We are looking for an enthusiastic intern that has a great interest in LLM (Large Language Models) AI Models and wants to develop him or herself in the field of prompt engineering.  You will help the team to get the most out of its LLM implementation by designing prompts that produce the desired outputs.

That is what you will use your talents for in the Prompt Engineering Internship at Van Lanschot Kempen. You will use your people & communication skills to inspire, convince and support others with your new insights in the world of AI.

During this internship you will work in a dynamic environment with various multidisciplinary DevOps teams and departments like the commercial colleagues of the Private Bank.

The planned start date of this internship is January/February of 2024.

You will have one or more of the following tasks:

  • Work directly with a Product Owner and specialists to gather project requirements and implement a plan of action.
  • Understand LLM AI models: Gain a deep understanding of how LLM AI models work, including their architecture, training processes, and behavior.
  • Domain knowledge: Acquire domain-specific knowledge to design prompts that align with the desired outputs and tasks.
  • Experimentation: Explore different parameters and settings to fine-tune prompts and optimize the model's behavior for specific tasks or domains.
  • Feedback and iteration: Continuously analyze the outputs generated by the model and iterate on prompts based on user feedback to improve their quality and relevance.

Talents that you use to guide our customers in a constantly changing world every day. By thinking out of the box and asking questions. And all will be well if you also are analytical, result-oriented and have a hands-on mentality. In addition:

  • You are a bachelor's or master's student in computer science, econometrics, statistics, data science or analytics with one or two courses in statistics, machine learning, data science or software development;
  • You have experimented with LLMs and follow market developments actively;
  • You have some experience in using OpenAI API for calling LLM Models;
  • You are already writing code in python as your first language;
  • You are familiar with Azure cloud for deployments;
  • You are enthusiastic to implement OpenAI LLM’s in areas like, text summarization, sentiment analysis, text preprocessing, and generating templates;
  • You are passionate about new technology and tools and like to work with data;
  • If you have familiarity with Sematic Kernel or LangChain that’s a big plus;
  • You are available for at least 5 months for 32 to 40 hours a week;
  • Good mastery of English, both oral and written, and Dutch is nice to have.
  • Finance background and knowledge is a nice to have.
